  • Description: The camellia japonica is a broadleaf evergreen shrub that is prized for its flowers.  It blooms from winter to spring.  The fall flowering variety is the camellia sasanqua and it is also an evergreen shrub, which has smaller leaves than the japonica.  The camellia comes in a variety of colors.  It is best to plant this bush where it can be protected from the sun and cold winter wind.
  • Size: Camellia can grow to 25' tall, but most often range from 6' -  12' tall and 6'- 10' wide.
