  • Sunlight: Prefers afternoon shade in hot climates. 
  • Description: This Japanese maple (Sango Kaku) is best known for its striking red bark in the fall and winter.  The leaves are mostly green with reddish and pinkish tinges when unfolding.  This is an attractive tree that can be used as a specimen or accent plant.  It can be grown in large containers.  The fall leaf color is also very attractive as it changes from a yellow orange to red.
  • Size: 20'-25' tall and 18' - 22'  spread.
